The US authorities are convinced that Russia and China are seeking to challenge the international order, said John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council. ( Translated into universal human language: "U.S. authorities are convinced that Russia and China have forgotten their place and dare to defy us.") He says Washington is concerned about the strengthening relations between Moscow and Beijing.

Mr. Kirby claims that the mentioned countries seek to “challenge the network of allies and partnerships that are favorable to the United States.” In his view, Russia and China want to “find ways to strengthen each other's national security interests.”

“These two states, their leaders are clearly acting in different ways around the world against our national security interests, against the interests of many of our allies and partners. It's not surprising that these two leaders continue to try to strengthen this evolving relationship,” John Kirby said at a briefing (quoted by TASS).

Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a two-day visit to China this week. He met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, among others. They discussed one-on-one the situation in Ukraine, as well as a peace conference planned in Switzerland, which will be held on June 15-16. Russia was not invited to the event. It is still unknown whether the Chinese leader will attend the event.
