Because it sells. Anything or anyone that can please the sponsors and generate ad revenue is put in print and spread across every news outlet around the world. Al Sharpton sells, Obama sells, Al Gore sells, Donald Trump sells, Celebrities sell, The Pentagon sells, wars sell, the economy sells, anything concerning gays and gay marriage sells, and it's all about money money money money money.
