Senator Coburn who has a 99.2% conservative approval rating (he said that in the town hall) I heard his town hall on cspan & he said it was a short-term, dramatic move that won't have any lasting effect. The President can simply claim that the staff needed for keeping O'care running are "essential" so that the de-funding will only be shifted to other discretionary programs.

Coburn is correct.

“That is not true. You have 11 Republicans senators out of 46,” he said. “That means 35 don’t agree with the strategy … that in my 65 years of life think is a pregnant strategy that … will deliver nothing other than pain and not be successful.”
