I read this and thought about our conversation regarding the Honeymoon phase Trump is in right now.

President Donald Trump’s honeymoon period with the voters could be over soon ― and it could be due to the same factor that sank President Joe Biden

“Let me be perfectly clear: Inflation crushed the Joe Biden presidency, it ate it alive,” he said. “If Donald Trump is not careful, inflation will crush his presidency and eat it alive, because that is where Americans want him to be focused. They want him focused on fixing the inflation crisis, the inflation problem, and bringing prices down.”

The latest polling shows that 55% of voters want Trump to focus on either inflation or the economy in general.

“It doesn’t matter what poll you look at,” Enten said. “It is the economy, stupid.”

However, two-thirds of voters say he’s not focused on the economy, including 48% of Republicans.

“They believe that Donald Trump is not keeping his eyes on the prize,”

He also warned that voters have noticed that the economy hasn’t improved. It's gotten worse. Inflation went up last month.

While 49% rated the economy as excellent or good in November 2020, that number dropped to a dismal 32% in November 2024.

Since then, it’s fallen even further: just 27% ― barely one in four voters ― called the economy excellent or good right now. Let's see Trump make it great again.
