I have somewhere in this overstuffed house a picture of me at age 4, wearing my police sergeant uncle's uniform cap and duty belt, with the .38 holstered. The pistol is nearly as big as my leg. It's a cute picture, with me grinning ear-to-ear playing cop.

I was around guns my entire life. All through my childhood I knew exactly where Dad's guns were, and the ammunition, as did most of the kids also know where their parent's were. No one had gun safes back then. We essentially had free access.

Unlike the cretinous puerile cowardly boobs you people are raising here in the modern age, I never even considered getting Dad's gun to settle a score, punish a teacher, or off a bully. Nor anyone I knew. It simply never entered our minds.
