That's complete bullshit. No police force is going to stand in the way of a federal task force.

A high-ranking federal official will simply call straight into the police department of that area and federalize the force whether temporarily or permanently. It can be done.

If the current police chief won't cooperate he will be replaced by someone who will begin calling the shots.

Also the mayor or the governor can be removed from office legally through the court system for a pausing Federal law enforcement especially if they call for armed resistance.

In that case they could find themselves in front of a military tribunal rather than a civil or criminal Court.

Great! Let the Feds raid their homes at 4AM, kick in their doors with SWAT teams and assault rifles and take them into custody and charge them with conspiring to overthrow the US government while obstructing federal law enforcement.
