Democrats Are Destroying Themselves

You know better than that.
It was Conservatives that wanted to keep slavery.
Years ago those conservatives were Democrats.

It has always been the Southern Confederate Conservatives that wanted slavery.
Don't try mixing that up with today's Democrats.

Parties change, even trump was once a Democrat, then he switched to (R) when he realized how EASY the (R) are to con and manipulate.
I'm a conservative and I'm against slavery and discrimination and segregation and I am for civil rights.

years ago republicans were democrats , men were women , dog's were cats , elephants had wings, Winco had balls blah blah blah ...

Democrats no-longer look nor act like normal folks. They stick out like a sore thumb and their antics are embarrassing to watch.

Nobody normal looks or acts the way Democrats have been acting, and this is why they are responsible for their own destruction.

I don't care if "Democrats are destroying themselves".

The far more important topic is that Trump is destroying this country.

U.S. Agrees to Resume Military Assistance to Ukraine

The United States agreed on Tuesday to immediately lift the pause on intelligence sharing and resume military assistance to Ukraine after more than eight hours of meetings in Saudi Arabia where Kyiv said it would support the Trump administration’s proposal for a 30-day cease-fire with Russia.

The talks in the coastal city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, brought fresh momentum to cease-fire negotiations that faltered following a public confrontation at the White House between the Ukrainian and U.S. presidents. The Trump administration had paused all military assistance and intelligence sharing in the aftermath of the meeting.

The announcement came hours after Russian officials said Ukrainian drones targeted Moscow in the largest bombardment of the war. There was no immediate comment from Russia, which did not have officials at the talks.

In a joint statement, the United States and Ukraine acknowledged that the terms of any cease-fire would be subject to Russia’s approval. They also agreed to conclude “as soon as possible” a deal to develop Ukraine’s critical mineral resources — an agreement that was put on hold after the Oval Office dust-up. That joint venture is intended to “expand Ukraine’s economy and guarantee Ukraine’s long-term prosperity and security,” the statement said.

U.S. Agrees to Resume Military Assistance to Ukraine

Me thinks the Orange Menace's preference for Russia's murderous dictator and war criminal got a bit too obvious. Is flip-flopping on everything from Ukraine assistance to tariffs normal?
Ukraine is boosting the help for Putin by bombing Russia in Moscow. This I suggested from the first attack by Putin. Hit that sucker back harder than he has hit you. I bet Trump okayed this first.

Please, you tell us you hate both parties. Why do you defend Democrats only? Factually the person you are arguing with is correct. Democrats were the possessors of slavery and wanted it kept. I will say this about the South, and do you have guts enough to agree, they were invaded first. So they did not start the war. And they did no more than had George Washington had done to try to defeat England. It was right for George and right for Robert E Lee and Jefferson Davis.

That nonsense has been flown like kites for maybe 20 years. But it is part truth and mostly whitewashing Democrats. Democrats can never try to explain why on earth Republicans would be pleased to suddenly take on the Views of the Racist FDR. Don't think FDR was not racist. He banned Jews from coming into the USA. He banned blacks from being in the combat parts of the military. His wife was who wanted the Tuskegee airmen to fly. So why did it take so long to train them? Because FDR believed blacks are inferior. FDR caught Japs as he called them and put them into concentration camps. FDR really was the champion racist.

And the nail in Democrats coffin??? They see FDR as their saviour and lord master. They loved his policies then and today.

For the 50th time, I don't necessarily defend (D), what I do is attack the LIES from the right.

You want the truth, right?
You would NEVER support a LIE, right?

Read below and specifically state what you believe to be incorrect.
Tonight I defended this forum from your lies about Democrats remarkably trying to claim they fell in love with Republicans. They always hated Republicans as you still do.

What was my LIE?

Tag it, and post my LIE.
The con job about the pair of parties switching places. It is just a lie sold by Democrats trying to act clean.

Democrats no-longer look nor act like normal folks. They stick out like a sore thumb and their antics are embarrassing to watch.

Nobody normal looks or acts the way Democrats have been acting, and this is why they are responsible for their own destruction.

Alright, I've done a thorough disassembling of his salient points, so my liberal brethren won't have to. To wit:

Claim: The Democratic Party is actively destroying itself by doubling down on policies that alienate voters.
Rebuttal:
Ah, yes, the ever-popular “Democrats are doomed” narrative--one we hear before every election where, miraculously, they still manage to win. If the party were in such a death spiral, one wonders how they keep passing major legislation, holding the Senate, and winning key races in swing states. The reality is that democracy is messy, governing is hard, and, unlike the GOP, Democrats don’t simply rely on gerrymandering and voter suppression to stay competitive.

Claim: Democrats have lost the trust of the public by expanding government, bureaucracy, and ideological purity tests.
Rebuttal:
The horror! A government that actually governs! This quaint notion that Americans pine for “small government” conveniently ignores that they rather like their Social Security, Medicare, and roads that don’t collapse under them. The claim about “purity tests” is rich coming from the party that now requires its members to swear fealty to Donald Trump and his latest conspiracy theories.

Claim: The Democratic leadership is unwilling to correct course, instead pursuing policies that increase resentment, such as government expansion, wasteful spending, and DEI initiatives.
Rebuttal:
“Wasteful spending” is a fascinating term, particularly when applied selectively. The trillions in tax cuts Republicans hand to billionaires? Not a problem. Investing in infrastructure, healthcare, and education? An unforgivable crime. And as for “increasing resentment,” no one does resentment better than the GOP, whose entire political strategy is built on making people furious about things that don’t affect them.

Claim: The Democratic Party is experiencing a slow-motion collapse, as indicated by low approval ratings.
Rebuttal:
Polls fluctuate, but the evidence of collapse is hard to find when Democrats keep outperforming expectations. If approval ratings alone spelled doom, Republicans would have been buried under the wreckage of Trump’s presidency years ago. A party’s strength is measured in elections, not in Victor Davis Hanson’s fever dreams.

Claim: Democrats are obsessed with ideological battles and symbolic victories while ignoring real problems like inflation, crime, and economic instability.
Rebuttal:
This is an interesting perspective from the crowd currently banning books and obsessing over Mr. Potato Head’s gender. Inflation has dropped dramatically, the economy is growing, and crime--despite their best fearmongering--is down in many places. Republicans, meanwhile, prefer to offer policy solutions like cutting Social Security and tax cuts for the wealthy, because nothing says “fighting crime” like making sure billionaires pay even less.

Claim: Democrats have turned on Elon Musk because he promotes free speech and opposes government control.
Rebuttal:
Ah, poor, persecuted Elon, the world’s richest man, bravely suffering under the unimaginable oppression of… being criticized. Once the darling of progressives for pushing electric cars and space exploration, Musk veered into the reactionary lane, where billionaires go when they realize they’ll have to pay taxes. His sudden victim complex has less to do with "free speech" and more to do with people not fawning over him on Twitter anymore.

Claim: Democrats are engaging in "cultural imperialism" by pushing progressive ideology in foreign policy, alienating allies.
Rebuttal:
This is the same argument made by autocrats who complain that the U.S. has the gall to promote democracy and human rights. But let’s talk about real imperialism--like starting wars on false pretenses or sanctioning foreign coups. Promoting gender equality and LGBTQ rights abroad hardly qualifies as the great imperial menace Hanson imagines.

Claim: DEI programs have become a bureaucratic weapon that prioritizes race over merit and economic need.
Rebuttal:
A predictable lament from those who benefited from centuries of systemic favoritism but now feel oppressed because someone else gets a shot. DEI exists because, historically, merit wasn’t the deciding factor--race, gender, and class were. The real tragedy, of course, is how Republicans never seem to find any problem with affirmative action for the rich (see: legacy admissions, tax loopholes, and nepotism in corporate boardrooms).

Claim: Public backlash against DEI is causing corporations and institutions to abandon these initiatives.
Rebuttal:
Some corporations are trimming DEI efforts, not because of public backlash, but because they follow the winds of political convenience. The notion that this is some grand ideological shift is laughable. Corporations don’t abandon “wokeness” out of principle; they do so when they think it might hurt their bottom line. If diversity weren’t profitable, you wouldn’t see Wall Street investing in it.

Claim: Trump's policies, particularly on energy and the economy, are being vindicated as Biden struggles with economic stagnation.
Rebuttal:
If by “vindicated” one means “completely debunked,” then yes. The economy under Biden has seen historic job growth, lower inflation, and manufacturing investments returning to the U.S. Meanwhile, Trump’s signature economic achievements include a tax cut that ballooned the deficit and a trade war that hurt American farmers so badly they needed government bailouts--also known as socialism for Republicans.

Claim: The political and cultural landscape is shifting against Democrats, with a rising counterrevolution rejecting their control over media, corporations, and education.
Rebuttal:
This is less a counterrevolution and more a tantrum. The conservative outrage machine is indeed loud, but its influence is often overblown. If Americans were truly rejecting progressivism en masse, one wonders why Republicans keep struggling to win the popular vote in presidential elections -- only twice in 30 something years!

Claim: Democrats use censorship, corporate pressure, and social ostracization to suppress dissent.
Rebuttal:
Oh, the irony. The party that bans books, censors teachers, and purges anyone disloyal to Trump is suddenly worried about free expression? Social ostracization is not censorship; it’s what happens when people exercise their own freedom of speech to criticize bad ideas.

Claim: The 2024 election is a pivotal moment where America must choose between Trump’s results-driven leadership and Democratic ideological failures.
Rebuttal:
Results-driven? Trump left office with a wrecked economy, a failed pandemic response, and a violent mob attacking the Capitol because he couldn’t handle losing. If that’s leadership, then perhaps we should let Victor Davis Hanson manage a Burger King for a week and see how that goes.

Hanson’s screed, like most right-wing polemics, is a grand exercise in projection--accusing Democrats of doing what Republicans themselves have mastered: ideological purity tests, wasteful spending, media manipulation, and suppressing dissent. If this is the best case for Trump’s return, the Democrats can rest easy.

But you refuse to point out the specific LIE.

Why Robert?
You posted a picture not typed out script. I shot a photo of your photo to start you out.
Listen to this guy who debunked that same story.
