Denmark the liberals dream! Laughable

What!? Your liberal union utopia of New York sucks ass? I'm shocked.
Based on everything I've read and have been personally told by a Danish couple visiting relatives here, the prevailing social atmosphere in Denmark is contentment. Danish life is stress-free and generally happy for the vast majority.

Generally speaking, life in Denmark is totally devoid of the "rat-race" atmosphere which is common to the U.S.

LOL, "pulling the word card".

Yeah, them words have some nerve having definitions.

Social regressives have a tendency to over define language to the point where it loses all it's meaning. And then play a "gotcha", as if that contributed to anything. Also, they constantly redefine terms. After all, if their ideology is bullshit, the only way to make it swallowable is to redefine what bullshit means. See a postmodern journal.

Everyone knows what socialism is. it's the old idea that some mighty high idiots get to take your money and livelihood for any arbitrary reason. No need to write 10000 page book about it defining the crap out of it, making it seem like this time it's different. It's all the same failure of an idea repackaged.

Did you know that hot dogs and bananas also mean the same thing? Cylindrical food....no need in over defining words like you said. Right?

Do you understand the difference between over-defining things and outright miss defining them? Much more apt analogy would be to ask whether garbage and vomit are the same thing. To a trash cleanser it really doesn't matter.

Seems like you indeed have a problem understanding basic language. Or basic logic. So typical from a regressive.

But let me remind you again communism basically is socialism, it's just the radical type where all your property is taken for "greater purose" instead of only some. I bet it's your favorite breed. Same old mother of a bad ideas.

What "regressive"? I thought liberals were "progressives". Which is it?

Oh I get it, Interchangeable words again!!

Man, this is fun to be able to use any words to mean anything you want.

What a brilliant response, yet again illuminating your cognitive deficiencies regarding basic word usage. What does the word "regressive" sound like to you. Let me tell you, if you haven't figured it out yet. It means someone whose ideas are ass backwards. Someone such as yourself.

So are liberals "Progressives" or "Regressives"?

In your expert opinion of course.

You don't think the OP's pass around story is horseshit.

Let's start here:

The picture in the story is not of a Danish teacher named Mikkel Nissen,

it's a picture of Danish actress Mille Dinesen...

International tv-pris til Mille Dinesen

Whoops!

"That doesn't mean it isn't true" in 3, 2, 1....

Look, you pay more taxes in Denmark. But in exchange, you get a lot of services free that you otherwise would have paid for out of pocket anyway.

Keep in mind, the Danes have a democratic government. They have chosen the economic system they have.

Sweet meme!

Explain why Denmark consistently ranks as one of the most prosperous nations and having the happiest citizens on the planet.

Why is that?
I don't know how prosperous Denmark is but there are three main things that make people happy: close relationships, a job or past-time that they love and helping others. On the other hand, money and material things do not have a lot to do with happiness, and people who emphasize them are less happy than those who do not. I doubt economic freedom has much to do with people's happiness.

Go tell that to North Korea... This is just a justification for theft. How many happy slaves where there? Should we re-institute slavery cause after all, economic freedom doesn't matter.

May I inquire you, if material things don't make people happy, then why do they need to be taxed? If it doesn't matter, surely it shouldn't matter? Why do socialist scream they want other people's property? So once again, justification for socialism utterly fails.

I would like to invite this malcontent to live in New York City and work as a teacher in a typical public school with a salary comparable to her present $61k. Then I want to hear what she has to say after one year. I can assure you she will be begging to return to the relative sanity and contentment of Denmark.

Don't be swayed by one negative opinion. The vast majority of Danish people, while they might complain about the high taxes, are quite content with their lives.

Oh, right, because New York is a good example of all of America. I have friends who came to the US to live for short periods, and they were amazed at how well off Americans are. For instance, in Germany it costs $50 just to get a reservation on a tennis court. The condominiums they lived in here in the states had tennis courts free to all the residents. They were astounded by that.

Ask people who don't have enough money to pay their medical bills or pay for orthodontia for their children and see how happy they are.

See, money doesn't matter when it's yours. It only matters when it's the government dolling it out.

You mean despite all those taxes the Scandinavian countries are still the happiest on Earth? You mean despite all those taxes and safety nets their economy still functions? Interesting!

They lost. Nobody runs a government based on a unanimous consent requirement.

I'm glad you agree that Danes didn't all agree to the taxes they pay. It isn't voluntary, as you implied. A majority vote does not constitute consent.

If that is what you got out of this thread, you have failed.
