What is interesting is that we allow Visas for international athletes and entertainers. Maybe we could do the same for the NBA.

No European NBA players or Dominican MLB players. Those jobs should go to Americans.

For real though, I know companies can pay people from India and China, for example, less than market rates. The dollar goes further in these countries.

This employment channel should be limited. I do not know how many are too many. We should definitely limit it from geopolitical adversaries like China.

The door seems to be wide open right now. Chinese espionage around US air bases is a major concern.

I'm a Trump supporter. I haven't been sold anything. There is no need for H-1B tech workers, when American tech workers cannot find work.

I do agree that they shouldn’t be hiring non-American workers for less money than they would pay an American worker. The issue in the tech world seems to be two fold. First, there aren’t enough qualified American high tech workers to fill all the jobs and second, many American high tech workers, particularly those just out of college, value themselves to be worth far more than they actually are in the labor market the liberals have created. This is in large part due to lesser skilled workers in unions getting paid far too much for their skillset. In an engineer’s mind, if a garbage man in NYC can make close to 6 figures, why would an electrical engineer fresh out of school not make at least 1.5x that? If they make the same or close to the same, what was the point of paying for 4 years of school and the rigors it required? The leftist dream of more income equality has once again screwed up the free market and businesses have been forced to look for alternatives in search of highly skilled workers willing to work for less money.

Nothing if the market demands it. The problem arises when a garbage man is making more than or very close to an electrical engineer, for example. Less Americans will chose to be EE’s and companies needing that skill set will look elsewhere. The other alternative is they can pay EE’s much more and then raise everyone’s prices. Where does it stop? Why not pay a garbage collector 250k/yr with union benefits and a pension? Unions artificially inflate salaries, particularly for less skilled workers.
