Actually, the Russians eliminated Khazars and conquered at least Eastern Crimea in X century, in 960s. Mongols invaded it in XIII century, and the Turks (who's branch are Crimean Tatars) conquered it in XV century.
Under the Ottoman control, Crimean Khanate was a slave-trading state, which ecomical basis were raids and capture of slaves in Slavic lands (first of all - in Russia) and selling them in Ottoman Empire. Of course, Russians didn't like it and, as usually, took measures to finish this vile practice.
Its good, not bad. If we are talking about deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944, it was an act of mercy. Almost 100% of local Tatars under German occupation actively cooperated with Germas, and the justful decision would be execution of almost all adult males. Stalin spared their lifes and their culture. May be, it was wrong decision.

Eastern Crimea, at least Korchev (now Kerch) is colored in Russia's colors (those were undoubtedly Russian lands). Plus, Khazar's Kaganat was destroyed by Russia in 960's and its land, even if was not recognised by other countries as Russian (on your propagandists map it described as no one's land), was more or less controlled by Russian armies and raiding parties. Say nothing, that after marriage of Sophia Paleolog and Ivan the Terrible and fall of Byzantine under Turkish strikes, Russia became rightful heir of Byzantine's (now Turkish) lands.
