It's sad when you see how desperate people are to leave the country of their origin in an attempt to settle someplace else. We saw what happened to the Haitians and Cubans when they tried to come in boats that weren't seaworthy, and now we see it happening again in another part of the world.

Since the end of the Cold War, the Mediterranean has become the most lethal of Europe’s barriers against irregular migration, having claimed nearly 20,000 migrant lives in the last two decades.

And the first nine months of 2014 indicate that the phenomenon is on the rise, with more migrant deaths than in any previous year.

Last month, a report from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that 3,072 migrants have drowned in the Mediterranean this year out of a worldwide total of 4,077 deaths worldwide. These figures are almost certainly underestimates, because many migrant deaths in the Mediterranean are not reported.

What the hell is "irregular migration"? Does that have to do with geese...or maybe ducks?

Most countries have quotas to prevent an exodus of people entering and over load the states ability to provide jobs and services, or prevent invasion by such a flood to take over the country.

If you're referring to LEGAL IMMIGRATION, then say LEGAL IMMIGRATION, and if you're referring to ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, then say ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. All these syntactical back flips the left spoon feeds useful idiots like yourself, will only make you crazier in the long run.
