Fuck Y'all I'm From Texas!
When I stop and look at the whole thing in Ferguson one thing comes to mind.

There is not a single party in this whole thing that should have a clear conscience.
Mike Brown F'd up,the cop F'd up,the local populace F'd up,the local P.D. F'd up,the media F'd up.

If we cant all make this a learning experience we're fucked as a society.

We need to make this a 'changing' experience and fix this shit. It's not acceptable for the police who's duty is to protect a community, to be hated by the community they are supposed to serve. It is also not acceptable for a community to hate someone who wants to serve them.

I do not know the solution, but we as a country need to make changes and resolve this situation. The Status Quo ain't working, we need to shake it up.

The ONLY thing I can even come up with is having police who are in a sense "elected" by their communities - aka the community chooses who serves them. I am not sure that is possible, and even if it were that it would be more than a temporary Band-Aid.

I think you're missing my point entirely.
Everyone here fucked up,they all need to stand up and admit fault.(Big Mike cant obviously)
The rest of them can though and thats what I'm talking about.

So... you want the FPD to come out and say "WE" executed Brown and we're sorry?

Let's just say they do peg Wilson as a bad cop who over stepped his bounds and he gets thrown in jail, possibly murdered before then. Will that increase trust in police? Well, its happened in the past, and it is, in fact, a lot of what feeds the current opinion that police are bad. It accomplishes nothing but throw wood on the fire.

Again you miss my point. I dont expect anyone to admit shit other than on this board.
As a conservative I admit the cop over reacted. As a liberal you should admit the locals over reacted.
Both sides should admit the cops are getting out of hand.
I see this as a way to come to some kind of consensus among the the two of us.

How do you know? Are you privy to info that no one else knows? This is just like that other race-inflated Zimmerman/Trayvon fiasco. We have to wait for investigation and testimony.

Please don't label me as only one thing: 86% Libertarian, 83% Republican, 67% Democrat, 62% Green Party, and 17% Socialist. I have actually supported both your arguments. The media over reacted as well.

Anyway, I see what you're saying, specific to this board. Well, from what I've seen there are quite a few people who are only on here to compete in a pissing contest and one up each other devoid of facts, reason, or logic. It is very unlikely that you will see any meeting in the middle. Of course, if you did, then there might not be a lot of point to the board...

Why accept boxes decided by media hungry talking heads? Most are 'conservative' on some issues, perhaps 'liberal' on others, and vice versa. There is no bright line division except the self imposed. Yes, the evidence MAY* prove the officer overacted, there is no doubt those who prentened to care about the death of Michael Brown did, by damaging property, and theft.**. Most people in America do not fit neatly into the divisions. Moderates rule ; )

*That nagging detail of PRESUMPTION OF INNOCENSE remains, even for law enforcement officers, surprise.

**Rioting, and looting indicates those involved cared -0- about the young man's death.

This makes sense.

I can only assume that things had been tense in this community for quite some time. I read that the area was being redeveloped ?----starting to experience growth. Sounds like the governor or legislators in MO need to address issues.

I don't expect this to end well----

Any community 2/3 black is going to be tense. This will cause what few white people who remain to leave if they haven't left already.

I don't really know anything about St Louis.

In another forum someone said the area was 67% black---yet has elected ? over 90% officials which are Caucasian. Seems strange.

It seems like that is where they need to begin.

The PD handled the situation poorly. And at this point it looks like the cop may have overreacted but I''l hold judgement on that until I see his injuries.
I see this as a chance for whites and blacks to get behind something together, say in opposition to the militarization of our police.

I'd like to think we can get something positive out of this mess.

Yeah..gentrification rarely goes over well with the existing residents no matter what color they are.

In an age of 'plausible deniability' from the top on down, don't bank on it.

We don't know if the PO handled the situation poorly if Brown attacked him and the was charging him. He may have had every right to shoot to kill. I don't know.

The Police Dept may have handled the rioting and looting properly. I don't know. I am no expert.

And no one on this board is an expert or has all of the facts. None of us can judge.

But like busy little bees, we can all put in our 2 cents and pass the time of day.
