Our population is actually getting dumber. This has been confirmed by studies. Our country really is getting dumber.

I think one of the chief causes is social media, which causes the rubes' to now have the intellectual bandwidth of a bumper sticker.

The second chief cause is the rise of partisan 24-hour news channels. They use the exact same propaganda methods I saw in communist Cuba's broadcasts when I was stationed in Gitmo.

We now know for a fact Fox News knew Trump lost the 2020 election and yet they deliberately chose to air what they knew to be lies, all out of fear of losing viewers and therefore revenue.

As for Hussein, as a retired veteran who served over there, I can tell you we were going to have to deal with Hussein again sooner or later. Better sooner.

The only problem I have with Bush's war in Iraq was the way he prosecuted that war. He fucked it up. He should have left the Iraqi Army in place instead of demobilizing them. The majority of the insurgents were former Iraqi soldiers.

At the conclusion of WWII, the US kept the German Army in place and used them to maintain order.

We should have done the same in Iraq.
