You're propaganda article targets people like you who don't know shit about trucking. Nobody is forced to buy a truck, and there is plenty of demand for company drivers. Those who choose to become owner operators are free to buy their rig from wherever they want, and they are free to contract with whatever trucking companies they choose. Nobody is forced to sign contracts that they don't agree with, and company drivers are not forced to become owner operators.

You can't fire an owner operator, since they are not employees. Neither the owner or the trucking company is forced to sign anything. If you don't sign contracts, then the conditions of that contract are not enforced. You must sign contracts when you become an employee or employer, when you create a business arrangement with trucking companies, when you make business arrangements to work on homes, when you buy a house, when you buy a car, and wherever contract work is done. No contract = no business arrangement.
