forum terms fine print

echnically you can be removed/suspended from any forum at anytime for no reason even if you did not break any terms

Yep. Good reason not to make any long serious threads and having real debates. All you have to do is make some faggot pedophile fans cry and feel all oppressed n stuff and you will get Blaylocked eventually.

Well, technically, a little more involved, as mods don't have access to ban someone from a Forum. They can ban from replying to a thread, or ban from the board, temporarily or even permanently. But, it is always for cause.

I have heard banning from a Forum discussed, understand it is more complicated than worth, and requires Admin to do it. I have never seen it done.

Try not to lose sleep. Simply read:

USMB Guidelines for Posting

Enjoy the board.
there is truth to that, they can't ban you from reading or searching a forum but if you can no longer log into your account you can't post and therefore if you can't interact it's kinda pointless unless you just want access to their database for your own research

I'm good, this was just something that irks me, I tried to help my friend but it was just pointless, minds were made up and they were not even open for discussion, no appeal process, just see ya and don't come back

seems illegal but you actually don't have any rights like you thought you might

thus you are rather at the mercy of the admin and mods.......so be nice ;)
This isn't a government run institution. It's a private business. They reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

That is banning from the board, not a Forum.
You will be fine, as long as not a sock of whoever was banned.
The sock hunters are actually pretty good at it.

I did not write that correctly, a website that has forums and sub-forum. some you can read them all day long but you can't post unless you sign up therefore if you are suspended you can't interact anymore thus the board is no longer of use to you.

just learned was a sock was, I was a moderator once and they were just called trolls or lurkers

"rights" are protections from the government. When it comes to individual businesses, the government can choose to protect you, if it wants to, or not. And that's mostly through accommodation laws which the govt puts in place to stop individuals from attacking people based on how they were born

well yeah, basically any website, forum or whatever does not really need to adhere and uphold the 1st, they don't know who you are, you are anonymous unless you give out details and even then unless they can be verified it just words with no meaning

I was a moderator at a gardening board 30 years ago.

Unfortunately, it had to close down due to the poor moderation.

technically you could try to hide behind a VPN but as I mentioned, everybody has a personality so when said person was banned and comes back it does not take long for the cues to show it's the same person under a new name

I've dealt with this before when I was a moderator, you catch on
Yes.

Upgrading your account can make you seem more legit on here. As it does expose your real identity somewhat.

Nobody wants to hear about a vegetable's sex life alright? Especially a disfunctional one.
