Free College: American University

Ummmm....it's not stealing.
It's taxpayer dollars that is not being used as intended. That's why it's being withheld and being used elsewhere.

It was given to the universities to make high quality education inexpensive for citizens. Instead universities have used the money to enrich the faculty leadership and exorbitantly raised tuition and fees for students.

A college education is $200K for a 4 yr degree in STEM.

This is another thing the lefty troglodytes can't grasp - that many "private" universities receive a shitload of federal funding. Or at least, they used to.

Do stupid people think the government can just up and take private property ... like the Bolsheviks? ... if I set up an endowment for the College of Hard Knots, all the after-tax income goes to the College ... it's still MY money in the endowment account ...

Liberal Arts colleges are well funded because of liberals ... Conservative Arts colleges are non-existent because of conservatives ... why do Trampanzees need an edukashun just to fling their own shit around? ...

These "Non-profit" universities are a great place to make a high end living and lifestyle.
Especially if you are in leadership.

But instead of teaching STEM they have taught political activism and hate....as if that's what they are all about. Preying upon students as pawns in politics.

Columbia University is a prime example where American citizens are the minority. Meanwhile they preach Antisemitism and Anti American ideology. Education? Pipe bombing, suicide vest wearing, Sovereign citizenship, and a bunch of other disruptive ideologies.

The video, when reduced to simplest terms, is that Trump will steal the money in private University endowment organizations. Seize the money and use that to fund his new online, Federal government controlled "University".

Maybe we can call it "Trump U" or "Trump University"? Just spit ball'n here.

WW
It would have to be Trump U II given the first one was a scam.

How about a college free of social studies with a focus on STEM subjects only?

A university degree means a "universal" education ... history, Englishing, STEM, foreign language, ethnic studies, physical education, arts and crafts ...

What impropering for math is Englishing if understooding isn't a problationive enough? ... otherwise itself being repeated again and again and again like history justification ...

English 101 - English Composition ... if you can't write, you're considered stupid ... trust me on this ... [smile] ... personal experience ...

You're thinking of a vocational school ... like in the military ...

So far....

Other than because of the particular President spearheading this project....

I'm not seeing any reasoned objections.

Its not like the proposed American University will have any sports teams or have a set of boosters....or even have dorms. (The usual spots for corruption)

Nor will the faculty be able to physically sexually harass the student body. (All remote student learning)

I can forsee that some STEM classes will be difficult to manage without a classroom. (Biology, chemistry, and etc all usually have some hands on training....lab time)

So....
Still looking for FACTUALLY based objections to this idea.

Especially in light of the benefits of standardized testing and education....standardized requirements for graduation....all sorts of baseline skills and knowledge mastery.

Apparently Trump is taking the billions given to colleges as endowments every year to fund a new American University.
Where American CITIZENS can study, get college credits, have exams.

All online.

Best professors, core curriculum, standardized curriculum.....

Not really seeing any downside for STEM classes.

Your opinions?

Like with everything Trump, I wait to see the results instead of predicting anything before then.

I got the best of both worlds back in the early 90’s… an Associate of Science degree in Computer Aided Design & Drafting from a private college that was really just a glamorized trade school. In two years (6 trimesters)…. 1 hard science class (Physics), 1 math class, 1 humanities elective (Science-Fi Lit), no history or language arts. Everything else was directly tied to career-oriented skills.

With a STEM degree? ... that's probably true in Ickydick, Tennessee (pop. 275) ... move to Silicon Valley with that STEM degree and watch the tech employers beg you with money in hand ...

It's PhD's in 14th Century French Literature who work and McDonald's, not STEM grads ... what rock do you live under? ...

Those with PhDs in 14 century French Poetry aren't fun at parties either....they are fun after the party....but not during. (Women....)
