Marxism is really nothing more than an intellectual fad for people under the age of 30. I am not sure why we are celebrating a subpar philosopher whose notable accomplishment include merely producing a significant amount of literature which amounts to little more than intellectual diarrhea. Anyone who declares with certainty future outcomes, especially in the realm of something as complex as economics, and then retrofits an account of human history to rationalize that postulation is living in a web of self-delusion. This is deluded pattern-seeking behavior at its most convoluted level. I spit on Marx on his birthday because his irrelevant rambling lead to one of the darkest periods in human history. Hardly a man worth celebrating.

When it comes to this, the city should be one of those "umm, we don't mention that name around here" types of cities. You might not need to strike his name from the history books, but certainly he should not be celebrated.
