Why does hamas attack these peace and freedom-seekers?

BBC News - Gaza gears up for anti-Hamas Tamarod protest group
Hamas opponents fear crackdown in Gaza - Telegraph
Hamas crackdown on Tamarod group reflects panic, analysts say - Los Angeles Times

There were supposed to be elections in gaza almost 5 years ago - why is hamas refusing to allow new elections?

Why is hamas ethnically cleansing christians out of gaza?

Why is there no freedom of speech, assembly, women's or gay rights in gaza?

Why do $2 whores like some of the posters in this forum defend hamas, when it is a cancerous, murderous, wretched dictatorship controlled/funded by iran?

Hamas' rule is illegitimate
Anyone who supports Hamas in power must also support Al Qaeda in power. It only makes sense since both are officially categorized as terrorist organizations.

The only way for there to be any peace in Gaza is for Gazans to rid themselves of Hamas.

Sure, elections are called by the president. Abass's term in office expired January 9, 2009. He refuses to step down and stays in power with the help of Israel along with US money, weapons and political cover. The speaker of parliament is to temporarily assume the office of president and call for elections within 60 days. Abbas will bot allow that to happen.

The government (the prime minister and his cabinet) has no set term limit. They are to serve until a new government is confirmed by parliament. This is similar to the US where presidential appointments require senate approval.

The last legally constituted government in Palestine is the unity government of March 2007. No government since then has received the approval of parliament.

I assume NONE of that vermin will enter/touch this thread, or if they do, will spew deflective nonsense about Israel, how it is Israel's fault that hamas is so oppressive, or that no one likes hamas - and their support is for the arabs who call themselves palestinians - not hamas, etc. Lots of excuses and deflection, but no answer as to why they and the rest of the BDS/jew-hating trash perks up and takes action ONLY when jews are involved. :eusa_boohoo:

On cue, the deflective nonsense from one of the worst POS liars:

Hamas Blocks Elections In Gaza | The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs

"Palestinian local elections in October will only be held in the West Bank as Hamas is hampering preparations in Gaza...Until now, Hamas has prevented the elections committee from doing its work in Gaza. Our staff cannot work because our offices are closed and they have confiscated our cars.""

Which also does NOTHING to explain why there are no civil rights such as women's allowed in the gaza strip, why no demonstrations are allowed, and why christians are being ethnically cleansed out by hamas. Nor does it explain their horrible crimes against regular gazan arab citizens.

For crying out loud tinmore, do you even know how to read and answer a question without deflection? Your answer(s) do NOT adress Hamas at all!

There is a time limit set by the P.A. as to how long the P.A. can stay in power before new elections must be held, hamas has refused to set the date for the new elections because it knows they will lose and be ousted by fatah.

The president has a definite four year limit.

Parliament has a four year election cycle, however, it is stipulated that they keep their seats until replaced by someone else who wins that seat. There is no such stipulation for the president.

The government (the PM and his cabinet) is appointed by the president. They must be approved by parliament, then they are allowed to be sworn in. They have no specific term limit. The president has the authority to change the government at will by following the above procedures.

The people and the legislative procedure

Since Palestine has no legitimate president to call for elections, the constitution specifies the procedure to follow. The speaker of parliament is to temporarily assume the office of the president and call for elections within 60 days.

Which has not been done and I believe under the Oslo accords the P.A. is dissolved as it was a temporary office until such time as the P.A. had made peace with Israel and agreed mutual borders. It is all in the Oslo accords if you bother to look, so hamas was elected illegally as the statute of limitations ran out in 1999.
