The subtle use of language to manipulate public opinion by dumbing down populations has never been more alive than it is today in America. Case in point, notice anything written in media about Donald Trump. It will invariably refer to his supporters as “followers” you know, like David Koresh, Jim Jones, or maybe that Applewhite guy with the spaceship, sneakers, and the Hale Bop Comet. It really does not take much to irritate, infuriate, and agitate not-so-bright readers especially if you convince them that they are the smart ones while others with differing opinions are just too dumb to know what is really going on. It is like scaring children with monster stories and it works surprisingly well. Even when the targets realize they have been duped they will seldom admit it and often just double down on their foolishness. I have noticed this where I live.

How about you?

They also count on people reading just the headlines.

There is a real reason for that, you know.

The "media" are nothing but another species in the sub-human parasite class, along with the "legal", "medical" and advertising industries.

Schools don't teach critical thinking anymore. This same garbage, albeit way more primitive, was practiced by the media controlled by Pulitzer, Hearst and a few other media moguls over one hundred years ago. I thought we had progressed beyond that, but when they "dumbed down" the education system, I guess society was ripe for the picking again.
