Kim had been known to personally shoot his own generals. Once he executed a general who nodded off during a meeting with a fifty caliber canon! The mounted deck type.

What will he do now?

That was my first reaction. Over there you don't get slaps on the wrist and demoted for incompetence that embarrasses Kim. Even ISIS beheading people is more humane that what's going to happen here.

You have to watch these reports coming out of North Korea, because most of them come from the South Korean press that likes to make things up.

Remember when Kim fed his uncle to the dogs? (A dog eating a Korean? What a twist!!!) Turns out that didn't happen. His uncle was executed, but not fed to dogs.

Or when he supposedly executed his mistress? That didn't happen, either. She turned up on N. Korean TV and she was just fine.

When I Korea....I use to see South Koreans running for PT. The platoon SGT would run around the formation and wack troops with a bully stick if they were out of line. Just think what the North does.

Sounds like quite a mess to clean up after the punishment is completed.

That's the great thing about hanging, its a lot neater, little bleeding.

That's a good point we automatically assume everything we hear is true because in our minds North Korea is villainous.

So you’re not 100% sure fat boy is villainous? Really?

I simply recognizing idea that SK might print disinfo about NK. Having said that Kim is safely described as a maniacal and murderous dictator IMO.

Some of the more sensational stories may be SK propaganda.

But it’s been completely proven that NK is an absolutely terrible and horrific place to live in, in ways that go far beyond the wildest dreams of the days of the Warsaw pact countries in Eastern Europe during the Cold War.

Life in North Korea makes life in other authoritarian regimes seem normal by comparison.

I can believe that

Never Fight for Natives

Same with the ROK troops in Vietnam, unquestionably the best fighters over there on either side. They had a kill ration of 92 to 1.

They were even used by apologists for nation-building as an example of what the worthless South Vietnamese troops could become some day. No way the ARVN would ever have beecome anything but cowards, crooks, and collaborators.

You’re saying they’re not?
As in Rome with the Gracchi, the Decline Started with Birth-Class Supremacy

After losing their independence for the first time in 2,000 years, the Koreans in the North felt that everybody-on-the-same-page totalitarianism was the only way to survive. When under Japanese colonialism, the Koreans almost completely lost their traditional character and spirit.
