House debate on banning 'assault weapons'

As if we needed further illustration as to the asininity of the 2022 'assault weapon' ban

Rep Massie(R) asks Rep Cicilline(D) if a Mini-14 receiver would be banned under the law. He says the bottom gun is specifically exempt from the bill, but the bill also bans receivers of specifically banned guns, like the version at the top.
Cicilline refuses to give a direct answer.

I wonder why.

Rep. Massie is one sharp guy........I heard Dan Proft of the local radio station today, he played a clip of Massie taking down Pete Butgage, the idiot Secretary of Transportation........pointing out that charging an electric car would cost more money than using air conditioning in your house for a year......
