Now keep in mind, this bloated funding is in EVERY jurisdiction, every day of the year. Municipal, provincial and federal.
See the data below and keep in mind the Summit costs in China included ALL of the buildings they built, even the roadways and massive infrastructure expenses which were very extensive. The vast majority of Canadian spending was on security. In fact, if we withdraw the Chinese data, the G20 in Toronto cost more than ALL of the other six G20s held since (none during covid) COMBINED
We are bankrupt, almost as bad as the U.S but we don't have a diverse economy, nor a global currency that is the standard, nor a military. On top of this, our citizens make $22K less a year than Americans.
You know what industries our citizens get paid far more than most Americans? Policing.
If you listen to Canadian police you do so at your own peril. In whispers behind your back, they do not like Americans or your system. They are offended that American citizens have Rights...
I will never forget the leader of France when he was in Toronto being told that it costs us over $1B to run the G20 Summit and the media asked him how much it would cost France next year. With little hesitation he said "about 10% of that cost. Yes, precisely about 10%". He did even better, it cost them less than 8% of our costs.
