1. I do not believe that the US will annex Greenland without the consent of the Greenlandic people. Enough with the ridiculous talk of fascism.

2. I do not believe this is within the scope of presidential power without the consent of Congress.

3. It could be that Trump is throwing this idea out there just to get a new and better deal for US bases or stations in Greenland. Would we have earlier warning of an ICBM strike against us? I don't know but there could be valid reasons for increased an US presence.

4. There's no need to get all worked up about this issue. The devil is in the details and we don't know what that is yet.

Much, much more than the USA has done for its native peoples. So why should Greenland sign up for that abuse?

Its a different time and era. No one is going to be sending them blankets full of small pox or club all their baby fur seals. Most likely the existing population could become much more upwardly mobile socio- economically IF their current government made a deal with that assurance.

Or they could just decide to make individual leases and contracts with foreign powers. Thing is, Trump is president of the United States, so what he is trying to do now is in the interest of THIS country. Its exactly what he was elected to do. Mind you, this is not the first time the U.S. has pursued the idea of buying Greenland. there have been other administrations.
