My understanding (from hearing a legal analyst speak on TV, no link) is Smith has testimonial evidence pertaining to trump's plans for what he was going do with the classified docs. Speculating here.......but perhaps knowledge of those plans hastened the DoJ's desire for getting the docs back and thus the reason for the subpoena to search MAL.

Then, after the finding of guilt by that jury, a judge in good standing pronounced and recorded the conviction on all counts? You and I were not on that jury. It is up to us, as citizens, to support court action, until overturned by a higher court. President-Elect Trump, even appealed to the Supreme Court, to avoid sentencing, rejecting 5-4 that appeal, Chief Justice Roberts supporting the majority.
