It is extremely difficult to legally buy even a revolver in Mexico. Yet the cartels have access to the most sophisticated weapons on the planet, including machine guns, explosives, and armored vehicles. And with the windfall that they received from Biden's open border they have "armed up" significantly in the last few years. "When you outlaw guns..only outlaws will have them"... Mexico is living this reality....But if the "outlaws" or "Cartels" ever have to face the U.S. Military they will "find out" in the first three minutes.

We could be going to war against the cartels AND the Mexican govt both, although I doubt that Sheinbaum would let it get to that degree. Most likely is US troops deployed all throughout the country, working together with the Mexican military.

There are an estimated 100,000+ cartel members, something to bear in mind. We'll be a busy country fighting China, Mexico and Panama not to mention potentially something in the Middle East too. Plus trade will all but cease and put thousands of Americans out of work and so on.

There are hundreds of US companies operating in Mexico and we import lots of stuff like vehicles, auto parts, electronics, oil, medical equipment, veg/fruit, all of that disappears if you start a war.

It is all quite foreseeable if you've ever studied other wars. It is guaranteed that the cartels would attack vulnerable targets along the border, small towns and so on and that they'd slaughter hundreds of Americans, so if that appeals to you go right ahead and get all excited.

The US is useless at wining wars too, better bear that in mind.
