'Cases tied to the large outbreak have spread to at least three states.

The measles outbreak that began in Texas before spreading to at least two other states swelled to 355 confirmed cases on Friday — and officials say there is no sign it’s slowing.

“I’m worried it’s getting worse,” Katherine Wells, director of public health for Lubbock, told NBC News.

Many people aren’t getting tested for measles, and efforts to increase vaccination in the affected areas have gotten a lukewarm response, Wells said during a media briefing by the Big Cities Health Coalition on Tuesday.

Wells said she thought it could be a year until the outbreak is controlled.'

When you fervently believe in Trump, you cannot believe in science.

That's idiotic. Trump-supporters don't believe people shouldn't get measles vaccines. You're confusing us with Mennonites.

This is just more fear porn. Are you really so afraid of us, that you have to make up shit?

Why not vaccinate against measles? That's crazy
Most of those affected are here illegally and not vaccinated. Some are Mennonite and have a religious objection to vaccines. Some firmly believe that vaccines cause autism and measels isn't that bad anyway. Trump really has nothing to do with the spread of measels.

I remember these outbreaks from my childhood. The outbreak will pass leaving dead children behind. Just like it used to be.

Yep. I had the measles as a kid. So did many others. Most survived, but some did not.

I am not antivax. I support vaccines that have a proven record of working and the measles vax is proven to work.

But that does not mean I'm going to violate someone else's right to chose.

If your child is vaccinated, then they have no fear of getting the disease. You're post makes no sense and no, you do not get to tell others how they parent their children.

Stop living in fear.

I had measels as a child. It nearly killed me. I am not anti Vax either. I had my son vaccinated for these killer diseases as soon as I could. I do not trust the bureaucracy behind these newly made vaccines. I elected to wait when the covid vaccine came out. My son got vaccinated and ended up with myocarditis. My daughter-in-law was fine. The pharmacist notified me that they received a notice from the maker of one of my medications that internal testing resulted in deadly interactions. I'm one of those not rushing to get the latest vax.

I am the same way.

A vaccine prevents the person who has it from catching the disease.

Covid did not do that because it was never a vaccine.

I'm a pureblood. I never had the shot. My wife had Covide twice. The first time, she took the monoclonal antibodies and they worked pretty well. The second time, she just toughed it out, but like the flu, it kicked her ass.

I tended to her both times and never came down with Covid. Knock on wood But I had a bad respitory incident, bronchitis, in December 2019 and I think that might have been an initial covid infection, but a mild one.

The science is pretty clear. Natural immunity is best, the vaccine is great -- when it is a vaccine -- and herd immunity works to protect the entire community of humans.

Funny thing is, herd immunity is not part of a vaccine. A vaccine is for the one individual only.

It's absurd to hear these leftists blaming Trump when anti vaxers have been around since 1998 when the vaccine autism link was first floated.

It’s entirely due to tribal right wing politics.

Trump made a global fool of himself with his appeals to superstition, qua k cures, and his dismissal and refusal to take responsibility for leadership in a major crisis.

But to his cultists, Trump is the real victim (of his own incompetence).

So now, he’s taking revenge on the very people who sounded the alarm and advocated precautions.

This was Trump’s biggest failure.

He wants to rewrite history and erase it. Destroying agencies devoted to promoting public health and curing diseases is a fine way to do it. At least in the little minds of a trump and his cult.

That’s the essence of it.

So Trump imports and anti vax quack and puts him in charge.

And the cult is delighted.

Trump will bring that back..
