'I'm worried it's getting worse': Texas measles outbreak grows as families resist vaccination

You don't know what that means, do you?

Gain-of-function research involves altering an organism's genetic makeup to enhance or modify its biological functions. For example, scientists might make a virus more transmissible or adaptable to different hosts in controlled laboratory settings. This type of research is often conducted to better understand pathogens, predict emerging infectious diseases, and develop vaccines or treatments.

You were saying?

Playing these semantic games is what caused this problem in the first place. Well, that and arrogance.

That’s absolutely idiotic. South and Central America have very high measles vaccination rates. Measles is endemic to some areas of Africa and Southeast Asia.

BBC vs NFID. LMAO

I think you’re math might be bad.

Ummm wow. Ok. Well there's that I guess.

You really dont think the NIH was funding gain of function research in Wuhan?
What’s wrong with my math? Measles isn’t really endemic to south and Central America. So what’s more likely, one of the vastly larger international travelers or a much smaller in number migrant from a country with high vaccination rates and low incidence of measles?

Americans top 10 travel destinations outside the US.

Mexico, Canada, and Europe. None of which have significant issues with measles. People traveling outside the US are far more likely to be vaccinated than those who don't but even if it tracked the same as the general population that's still only 4-5%. Tourists spend a short period of time (typically) in the country they are visiting which also reduces their chances of being exposed.

It's far more likely that a person from a country which has issues with Measles immigrated or visited the US and brought the measles with them than a US person brought it back with them. We have significant immigration from places like Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Indonesia all in the top 10 worst countries for Measles.

Math.

You’re making assumptions. First, assuming US international travelers are more likely to be vaccinated is not proven. But, you could make the exact same assumption about people from other countries traveling internationally being more likely to be vaccinated. Oddly you dont make that assumption. The shortened travel time doesn’t affect the probability because in the case of all outbreaks, the infected person has to bring it back, requiring they contract measles shortly before returning. There’s no difference whether they’re there for a month or a week.

More to the point, the odds are that it was legal travel which introduced measles rather than illegal immigrants.

'Cases tied to the large outbreak have spread to at least three states.

The measles outbreak that began in Texas before spreading to at least two other states swelled to 355 confirmed cases on Friday — and officials say there is no sign it’s slowing.

“I’m worried it’s getting worse,” Katherine Wells, director of public health for Lubbock, told NBC News.

Many people aren’t getting tested for measles, and efforts to increase vaccination in the affected areas have gotten a lukewarm response, Wells said during a media briefing by the Big Cities Health Coalition on Tuesday.

Wells said she thought it could be a year until the outbreak is controlled.'

"...outbreak grows as families resist vaccination"

When you fervently believe in Trump, you cannot believe in science.
Prove these families are believing in TRUMP! and are not apolitical.

Im not read what I posted.
But, you could make the exact same assumption about people from other countries traveling internationally being more likely to be vaccinated.
Actaully it would likely be the exact opposite. The majority of the people immigrating from other countries to the US arent the rich and successful. Why would they leave if they were?

Of course it does. Time in the country 100% affects probability of exposure. If I walk through a room full of people infected with the measles and you hang out there for 24 hours who's more likely to get infected?
There’s no difference whether they’re there for a month or a week.'
Tell me how that makes logical sense. If 2 people visit the same country. 1 for a week the other for a month who's more likely to be exposed to a communicable disease in that country? Could the person there for a week get exposed and the person there for a month not be exposed? Sure, but the probability of exposure is vastly increased for the person there for a month. They have far more opportunity to be exposed by virtue of how long they are there.
More to the point, the odds are that it was legal travel which introduced measles rather than illegal immigrants.
Based on?

How many cases a day now?
About ten .
What's 7-8 billion divided by 10?

Can't we find a real epidemic to talk about ?

BTW
What is the correlation among Dumbocrats between Mass Formation Psychosis and receiving Covid Killer Jabs ?
