There were no warplanes or drones visible. The school kids and other audience members of a genocide who gawked and put money into a telescope left disappointed as they saw no bombs or missiles, no artillery or tank fire. There were no blast waves from controlled demolitions to wash over them, and the numbers of smoke pillars from smoldering and cratered homes and schools were in the single digits, their fires not vigorous enough to be smelled. It must have been underwhelming and a let down; not much to boast about or revel in on the school bus ride home.

Yes, quite a number of opinion pieces use terminology like the quotes you have posted here. "Systematic starvation". "Genocide within a genocide". (That's a new one, not very creative).

I've also read a number of NGO (cough) reports. Those are creative. Quite creative. In the absence of ACTUAL deaths from starvation, they project deaths based on * waves hands * ... things. Things like, "Well, the IPC says that a famine is measured as 2 or more deaths per 10,000 population per day therefore 62,400 people in Gaza have died of starvation". Things like, "Well, in South Sudan 500,000 people have died of starvation, therefore people in Gaza must be dying of starvation". Things like, "Well, no one has died yet, but they will".

Never mind that there is no evidence of starvation in Gaza.

This is a blood libel: a false and maliciously perpetuated accusation that Jews have murdered non-Jews.

Gaza has become a killing field—that is the view of a well-informed Israeli veteran who was an enthusiastic supporter of the initial Israeli response to the Hamas attack of October 7, 2023. He believes that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the mastermind of the all-out retaliatory bombing and ground attack there, is now a contemporary Colonel Kurtz, the psychotic killer of Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now, the famed Vietnam War movie of 1979 based on Joseph Conrad’s 1899 novella Heart of Darkness.
What began as a retaliatory war by the internationally revered Israel Defense Forces against a disciplined Hamas guerilla force turned into the systematic starvation of a society whose civilian survivors—men, women, and children—are the victims of an Israeli military whose combat units are often led by the second generation of Israeli settlers.
