Trump thinks he is, He's said that more than once.

Putin has been the undisputed leader (ruler) of Russia for twenty five years now, winning his "elections" with an incredible (as in; not credible) 80 - 90 % of the vote. So where has Putin led Russia?

Russia is the largest country on Earth by area and has vast reserves of natural resources like timber, oil and minerals. It has a population of 144 million well educated people.

So why does Russia rank 65th in GDP. Italy with a population of 59 million and less area than California ranks 26 in GDP

Can you think of something that you have bought that was made in Russia?....other than vodka.

They never developed their own petroleum services industry and so are dependent on parts made in the West. About the only thing they manufacture and export are arms, most of which are lesser grade knock offs of our technology.

So where has this great leader led Russia? Into a historically disastrous war of aggression against their neighbor Ukraine. Indiscriminate bombing of residential buildings in violation of the Geneva Convention and promises made at the end of the Cold War in exchange for Ukraine giving up their nuclear weapons leaves Putin the undeniable aggressor

The fact is Russia is losing this war. Two weeks has turned into three years with Russian casualties approaching 1,000,000! Putin is destroying his army, and is dependent on North Korea for men and ammunition. The ruble is cratering and NATO is bigger and stronger than ever.

Is this great leadership?

The only thing that can save Putin now is Donny the Surrender Monkey!

One other thing, after 25 years as "leader" one in five Russians still don't have flush otoilets! ( the oligarchs are not in that 20%)

Well, idk about a great leader, but he is liked.
I mean, stalin still has 70% support in russia, and he probably killed all their great grandparents.
Russians seem to love murderous dictatorships.

You have never been to Russia pre and post Federation and have no idea what you are talking about ,
Your OP is so misinformed that I can see that it would be a waste of my time trying to educate you .

Putin has been a brilliant leader for the state of Russia that was initially run by regional Mafia organised by the Oligarchs ,
He has achieved a minimum 100 years development ,say , in 25 years .
So run along with your silly ideas and know -all attitude. .
BTW , The war has been conceded by NATO and the US . Strange that you think different . The UAF lost three armies and now are surrendering by the brigade all down the eastern front .

They support him or they accidently stab themselves in the back 17 times and throw themselves out a window, or get convicted and sent to the gulag.

Russia is a criminal cartel masquerading as a country.

Great leaders don't drive the educated and civilized population of the the country the way Putin has. Over 1 million military aged men have fled Russia.

In the year 2000, before Putin seized absolute power, the population of Russia was 146.4 million. Today, it's 143.4 million. Putin's now begging Russian women to have more children. Expect Russia to ban abortion to force women to have more children.

If Putin was a "great leader" people would be flocking to live in Russia, not running away as fast as they can.

100 years development of what?
Virtually everyone in the US had indoor plumbing way back in the last century. One in five Russians still craps in an outhose!

You start with an unsupported premiss .

And it is precisely the same one that I could write about the US now , but with extensive support .

Your OP is fith rate stereotypical propaganda which in reality disappeared from the time the Soviet Union was replaced by a functioning Federation .

Guess I was there just a few times pre Federation but at least twenty times since---- and all over, up to Ekaterinburg in the east .
The big cities , which is where the vast majority of people live, are the match of anything in Europe and the fast collapsing US.
I have never once been to any house anywhere in Russia which had only outdoor plumbing though doubtless that still exists in the villages .
But Food and Drink far outclass traditional US muck -- greater variety and far more tasty and healthy .

More important -- far more intelligent and savvy people who work very hard and are remarkably hospitable .
