The American public should be speaking out and calling for the U.S. government to at least privately tell the Israeli government not to retaliate over the missile attack they received from Iran last night, circumstances do not warrant a retaliation and the likely consequence of a retaliation is ultimately U.S. soldiers and/or U.S. government personnel in the Middle East are going to be killed at the hands of Iran or Iran's proxies with the justification that the U.S. has become allies in the Israelis war against the Palestinians in the Gaza strip and ultimately world opinion will ultimately believe that the Israeli government needlessly triggered this round of violence and it will chip away at the perception or reputation of the country of Israel as the victim in the Palestinian/Arab/Muslim conflict.

Reports are that Israeli is planning a major retaliation over last night's missile and drone attack from Iran and if they do they will be making the same mistake they did in their response to the October 7th attack; Israel should have limited their offensive to destroying the three hundred mile tunnel system in Gaza and used their stature and good will they would have had to get the intelligence services of the U.S., Major European countries and Arab allies to bolster the Palestinian authority and drive our and eliminate Hamas from Gaza for they offer no future for the Palestinian people now you have left Hamas as the only defender of the Palestinian people in Gaza in these Palestinian minds! Part of the problem is that the Israel government lets the media play the situation like a fiddle. The media is now stoking retaliation, they are fanning the flames for retaliation ( Israel was never before hit with 350 missile and drone attacks if Israel doesn't retaliate bad countries will think they can get away with such an attack against Israel) then after they get the ratings boost of the violence of retaliation then they will focus on the fairness of the situation then they will look at the merits of the situation and ask what was the good and right thing to do, after it is too late! This is what is a good and fair perspective in this situation calls for! There was no significant damage to infrastructure or loss of human life in last night's attack thank God, Israel's allies and the IDF; this lack of major harm is critical in the analysis of what Israel needs to do, remember this was not an unprovoked attack against Israel, this attack was a response to Israel's bombing of Iran's embassy in Syria which killed seven Iranians including two senior commanders where one Mohammad Zahedi was a highly reputable Quds Force Commander. This attack which significantly hurt Iran should have been expected and in all fairness should have been presumed to bring a major retaliation like what was seen last night for Iran cannot lose its street credibility amongst those fighting on behalf of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

If Israel retaliates now in a major way Iran will then have to retaliate in a major way which will almost certainly include an air strike against Israel and because Israel is a close ally of America, America will have to help provide air defense protection for Israel which will result in America shooting down Iran's air weapons in the next retaliation and so Iran from their legitimate perspective can conclude America involved themselves in Iran's fight against Israel and now they are fair game to attack and they will be attacked so Iran can save face meaning Americans will die and be seriously wounded and this will cycle into a back and forth attack against Iran and because Iran has high credibility amongst radical Islamic terrorists they will side with Iran against America so America will likely be a target of Islamic terrorism from these groups meaning Americans will be killed and wounded in this front. When all the dust has settled the media will shine a spotlight on the fact that Israel didn't need to retaliate over the April 13th attack not much harm resulted and it was a provoked attack provoked by the embassy bombing in Syria and it will further lead to the conclusion that Israel isn't doing its part isn't acting like a good country in this Israel vs. the Palestinian/Arab/Muslim conflict. This reputation damage to Israel if it continues its trajectory will eventually have a serious impact on Israel and Israelis, they will be ostracized economically and from a movement or travel standpoint they will be the bad guys in the conflict! All this Hezbollah, Iran, Yemen violence is all stemming from Israel's military campaign in Gaza these actors want the campaign ended so Israel needs to expedite their job here let all the Palestinian families that lived in northern Gaza return to northern Gaza and provide a good evacuation plan for the balance of civilians in Rafah who are willing to evacuate and then conduct their offensive in Rafah against Hamas expeditiously and completely then stop the military campaign in Gaza they don't have to leave immediately but they need to stop the bombings that kill significant numbers of Palestinian in a single strike so the world can see an end to the humanitarian crisis against Palestinian in Gaza and so Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen and the Iranians won't be forced to actively fight Israel to defend Palestinian civilians!

The general consensus of loons everywhere. Israel should not respond to threats or attacks. Pretty much telling the Jews they should just shut up and die. Hitler would be so proud.

Of course the total support for the conflict in the Ukraine shows their hypocrisy.

It does not matter if it is Ham's Ass or Iran attacking Israel, you Leftists demand they stand down each and every time.

Biden gets attacked by Hootie and the Blow Fish backed by Iran and the US does nothing. Ham's Ass takes American hostages and murders them and Biden does nothing.

WTH?

The Iranians have been shouting death to Israel and the US every day since the 1970's, and now they shout death to America in the US with impunity and backed by the DNC.

WTH?

WTH is wrong with the US of A?

There is but one fate for Iran

I think the US Government should shut up and let Israel call the shot or not, retaliate now or later or not, in whatever way that they choose as a sovereign nation of the world. They are totally capable of steering their own course, certainly not deserving to have to listen to public recommendations of US politicians in an election year.

They should.
The entire region hates Iran. They are nothing short of a source of terrorism around the region and the world.

Iran will not stop. They wish to take over the Middle East, and from there, my guess is the world.

If they do retaliate which may be the right thing or the wrong thing they must go with both barrels... it means taking out the Iranian weapons manufacturing sites and their air defenses runways and bridges... and most important take out every high ranking member of the Iranian military... or at least as many as they can....

Well, that Jim/Ivan guy has always been a mirror of the US policy. For example, if Biden wants to eat hamburgers in Nauru, Jim/Ivan would make a thread about how great it would be to eat hamburgers in Nauru.
In the current case, the point behind this thread is that Iran said they would target US bases if the US would support an Israeli retaliation. Israel has already decided that they will retaliate, but not yet how.

You are magnificent in spewing total bullshit.

This conflict is not over. Now Hamas are saying that they have no live hostages.

You have no idea of what comes.

Iran doesn’t get to say “it’s done” after what they did. Way too late for that.

Israel is a great power with a stockpile of nuclear warheads. They could wipe Iran off the face of the planet tomorrow.

Iran’s shitty military could barely get a single cruise middle through Israel’s defenses.

When you’re a 120lb weakling you don’t go picking fights with someone huge and then say “it’s over” after throwing a sucker punch

The problem is that shortly in the future Iran will have nuclear weapons and the ability to launch them into Israel.

The problem is Iran’s views of the end times. Thus article may be dated but it is interesting.

Several months ago I was informed by my contacts in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard that the Basij had started a project that had the approval of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The purpose of the project was to inform Muslims across the globe of the immediate coming of the last Islamic messiah. The Iranian leaders, now more than ever, feel that all the stars are aligned for such event.”
[…]
“According to the Hadith in the age of The Coming, a revolution takes place in Iran. This is a key sign indicating that the reappearance is near and serves as the initial preparation in the worldwide movement for The Coming of the last messiah. Based on this belief, the leaders of Iran see it as their duty to prepare the ground for The Coming. One of the most important events to securing the reappearance of the last Messiah, as called for in the Hadith, is the annihilation of Israel and conquering Beitol Moghadas (Jerusalem). They state with conviction that Islam will soon conquer the world and all infidels will be destroyed.

“The pursuit of nuclear bombs by the radicals ruling Iran is directly connected to this belief, as war, chaos, and lawlessness must engulf the world to pave the way for Imam Mahdi’s reappearance.”
[…]
…emphasis added
“Currently this movie is being distributed throughout the Basij and Revolutionary Guards’ bases. The producers are in the middle of translating it into Arabic with the purpose of mass distribution throughout the Middle East. Their intention is to incite further uprisings with the hopes of motivating Arabs to overthrow U.S. backed governments with the final goal of the annihilation of Israel and Allah’s governance of the world!” [Reza Kahlili, “Iran Leaders: The Coming is Upon Us“, 28 March 2011]

The above political claims, in the above video being distributed by Iran, are couched in apocalyptic terms. The video is making the point that, in order for this Islamic messianic figure to arrive and to establish a worldwide Islamic regime, Iran must take control of the Middle East, undertake a set of intense wars, conquer Israel, defeat the United States, conquer Europe, and so usher in the Muslim Apocalypse.

There is Israel led by Netanyahu , and Israel not led by Netanyahu. One is quickly assuming direction the other would not.

In the first place, Iran has been waging a proxy war against Israel for years, and Israel took out one of the Iranian generals who was responsible for it. Israel maintained good relations with the government of Iran when the Shah was in charge and tied to have good relations with the Islamic government after the revolution, but the ayatollahs began targeting Israel early in their reign. If they want to keep feeding Hezbollah, et al rockets to fire at Israel, they ought eat a few of them, themselves.

All the armchair warriors deciding what Israel should do. Assuming they have the right to tell them what to do.

Says everything about the age old attitude towards Jews. Prevalent to this day.:blues:

Some reports say 9 Iranian missiles hit Israeli military airfields. Note, not civilian targets, not hospitals like in Gaza, military targets. Despite all of Israel's air defenses, assisted by those of the US, England, and even Jordan.... If even one or two of the rockets had been equipped with nuclear warheads, it would have been the end of Israel.
Do you still think Israel will strike Iran?

Israel has nuclear warheads RIGHT NOW

Iran having them is just hypothetical “what if…” speculation

You think the Israelis will bet their ass on this issue?
"Netanyahu canceled retaliatory strike on Iran after phone call with Biden - New York Times"
There's a new sheriff in the Middle East. And he speaks Farsi

So, Iran got the enemy's defense schemes - the next time Israel decides to rattle its weapons, it will not be 200 downed "Shaheds" and nine incoming hypersonic missiles, but twenty-seven such missiles against missile defense systems and free passage of any number of "Shaheds".
