Can you imagine the freaking Attorney General preventing a whistle blower from giving details on operation Fast/Furious because it would "adversely affect morale"? Who's morale, the administration's? Can the federal government prevent someone from writing a book these days? Former ATF agent John Dodson has been "denied permission" from writing a tell all book about the botched operation that ended up shipping illegal weapons to Mexico. So far there has been no outrage in the liberal media.

The ATF has no right to deny permission to a "Former Agent" the right to publish his book.

Maybe low information liberals forgot that Hoover was the tool of democrat administrations including FDR, the Kennedy brothers and LBJ.

Nixon's resignation was after more than 2 years of beating the Watergate drum...

Should they have stopped that investigation after only 6 months and allowed Nixon to finish out his 2nd term, which he won by a real landslide, not the fake one Obama won by?

A.G. Holder suspends the 1st Amendment and prevents someone from writing a book "because it might affect morale". Did you ever hear such a lame excuse to violate the Constitution? What are democ-rats going to propose next? Book burning?

1) "Tell All" implies there's something we don't already know.

Wikipedia

2) Why would we can the cartels to know ATF procedures and methods not disclosed in congressional reports and news stories??

Jesus, are you really that thick?

Holy Moly do you clowns have this one wrong -- the Agent is still with the ATF!!!!!

ATF has not denied the publishing of a manuscript or an individual’s 1st Amendment rights. We have denied Mr. Dodson outside employment which can be denied for any reason by a supervisor. While his supervisor stated morale and interagency issues for the denial, the fact remains no agent may profit financially from information gained through his federal employment while still an employee.

This is not about 1st Amendment rights: this is about a current employee trying to profit financially from knowledge he has gained while currently employed as a special agent.

link up

btw....i found the link, so never mind

he could publish without receiving compensation, but the ATF did in fact deny him that and they specifically didn't mention compensation as a reason....you fail once again hazlenuts

The A.G. may or may not have a case about denying Dodson's right to publish a book based on a federal rule that government employees can not be compensated for writing about their experiences. That having been said, the reason J. Edgar Holder gives for violating the 1st Amendment is that it would impact the morale of the ATF and it's relationship with the FBI? Is Holder stupid or just another radical leftie rallying around the administration by hindering an investigation?

The only reason he had to resign is because of, um, Nixon's own words. Had he destroyed the tapes he might have ridden the storm out. His own words, from his own mouth, implicated him and then his Republican supporters abandoned him and the article of impeachment passed the committee.

Think about it lefties. The rules say a government employee can't accept compensation for a book about his/her experiences but there is no way in the world the government has the power to prevent a book from being published. Get the difference? Only in a fascist country does the government have to power to stop a book from being published. The only power the government has is to go after Dodson to recover the compensation he receives ....after the book is published. Why aren't the mainstream media sources salivating over possible expose of government policies and operations like they were when a confidential informant named "deepthroat" was spilling his guts to two Wash/Post reporters? It's a redundant question. The mainstream media isn't in the information business, it's in the propaganda business.

Again..

Using the standards in use today... Should the media and the Demcrats stopped investigating President Nixon after 6 months because that horse was dead?

Was "deepthroat" compensated by the Washington Post? Nobody cared at the time because the only news available to Americans at the time had a left wing slant. How in the world could the identity of a phantom informant be kept secret until he was dead and could not verify the information? Anything is possible when the liberal media is in charge and promotes unverified possibly made up junk while withholding real information depending on the political impact.

That horse was not dead. There are no ties to the President with F & F. I predict he will not resign over it.
