Halloween is not what it was in many communities. Has not been for a long time. Boundaries were broken and the distance kept getting further and further as we became more cynical and jaded.

I just came from the store with about $50 worth of Halloween candy.

Here in Mayberry -- small farming town in SD -- Halloween is absolutely EPIC! I thought I had enough candy last year but I ran out by about 7:30, just after it got dark. It was simply wonderful to see so many kids running crazy around town in their costumes, and it's going to be cooler this year because most of the kids know me now -- the after school group at the day care came and harvested veggies from my organic garden for their lunches.

I love Mayberry!
