There is a religion, Judaism, which is the belief that there is only one God and that God's messengers are Jacob, Moses, David, Jesus, etc. These messengers of God were sent to a nation that people call the Sons of Israel, or in today's time they are called Jews. The Sons of Israel were named after God's prophet Israel (Jacob), from whom the nation of the Sons of Israel originated.

The sons of Israel existed before the new era and today they no longer exist as a nation, perhaps as individuals in different nations. Same as Romans, Persians etc...

There are people who practice the religion of Judaism, and they are called Jews.

What people do not understand correctly is the Jewish nationality and Judaism as a religion. Every person in the world has the right to have his religion be Jewish, but that does not change his nationality German, Polish, American, etc...

People living in Israel today are Jewish by religion, but not by nationality. These are people who immigrated from Poland and Germany to the Arabian Peninsula. So their religion is Judaism and their nationality is Polish or German or one of the countries from which they immigrated to the Arabian Peninsula.

they are a tribe w/ a phony and self serving religion.

- in modern times if ever, neither of which is remotely appealing as a heavenly calling.

Are you saying German and Polish Jews migrated to Arabia? There was no Germany in 300 AD.

Judaism is a religion. The Jewish nation is a nation that no longer exists. Just as the Romans do not exist as a nation. It was created before the new era, and ceased to exist at the beginning of the new era or before that. They lived on the territory of Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula and Persia (Iran), and they did not live in Poland or Germany.

People of the Jewish religion who immigrated to the Arabian Peninsula after the Second World War are of Polish, German or other nationalities, and not of Jewish nationality.

They had German citizenship.

Germany became a country in 1871 when the German Empire was established, unifying most German-speaking nations under the Prussian crown:
January 18, 1871: Leaders of German-speaking states gathered at the Palace of Versailles and agreed to make King Wilhelm I of Prussia the German Emperor
February 26, 1871: The Treaty of Versailles ended the Franco-Prussian War
May 10, 1871: The Treaty of Frankfurt created the German Empire

The German Empire was the result of Prussian Prime Minister Otto von Bismarck's leadership in uniting dozens of German-speaking states. The empire became a leading European power and acquired colonies in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific.

Germany was split in two after World War II in 1945, but was reunified in 1990. To commemorate the reunification, Germany celebrates the Day of German Unity (Tag der deutschen Einheit) on October 3.

Had the world not spent the last 2,000 years proving that Jews, living as Jews or not living as Jews, are at risk in a non-Jewish host country, the state of Israel would not be essential to the survival of Jews.

If you want to take issue with the need for a Jewish state to exist for the safety and survival of ethnic Jews, take it up with all those people clamouring for Israel’s destruction.

Jewish isolationism is a self-inflicted problem, for one; Jews themselves demanded ghettos to isolate themselves from the sub-human goyim, and then as they got crowded sniveled because the sub-humans refused to drive out their own in order to give Jewish ghettoes more space. Sucks to cater to the upper classes and shit on the peasants for centuries, since eventually they revolt and take revenge on those who shit on them every so often. Even in the U.S. they self-segregated and then sniveled 'racism' because some wealthy drunk Episcopalians wouldn't let a few well heeled assholes play golf with them or something in their private clubs. You would think they were being rounded up and shot or something, but it was just a case of be snubbed by other snobs, so most of us don't need to care.

In any case after WW II was over it was also stupid to believe they could be kept in the concentration camps forever; they were not welcome back in Poland or anywhere in Europe, and since 90% of Arabs were German allies, many thought Palestine was a viable alternative, even though the British objected. It was a great idea, in fact, and still is. They're doing a great job, and the feral savages are profoundly embarrassed and angry. Netanyahu sucks as a peacetime pol, his racism makes him stupid, but he is doing a great job in trying to kill as many of the terrorists vermin as he can while he can, and I wish him every success.

what seems missing in the middleast are christians, the failure of the crusaders proves inconsequential in contrast to judaisms hereditary fanaticism. netanyahu.

The Space Alien Worshippers ----though I doubt more than 2-3% of Jewish people are fully aware of that and certainly cannot see it from that historical perspective .

The other Abrahamic Cult religions are just as bad, but concentrate more on individual soul redemption than the ritual loving Jewish people who think that the Sky God made them his Chosen ones and has the power to keep that promise .
imho .

As it was in Jesus' time. Paul was a "Jew of the Jews", but his nationality was Israelite/Benjamite.

Their 'citizenship' was Polish or German, but they are ethnic Jews.

no, Jesus isn't on the list

that's a bit reductionist. The 12 tribes (though there are 2 different ways to count them) were a nation of Israel bound by the divine laws. There was no distinction between religion and nationality and nationality was not determined by geography.

There is still a nation of Israel. It is not the same as the current political entity which uses the same name and is geographically located in a place historically known as the land of Israel.
There are people who practice the religion of Judaism, and they are called Jews.
and they are members of the nation of Israel, even if they don't live in the country of Israel.
People living in Israel today are Jewish by religion, but not by nationality.
Untrue. Israeli citizens may or may not be Jewish, but their citizenship establishes them as Israeli with Israel as their geographical/geopolitical home. Therefore, being Israeli is their nationality.

An immigrant's origin might be from his country of origin, but if he becomes a citizen, he is an Israeli, and American or whatever nationality goes along with his naturalization.

Judaism has no place for Jesus, he is totally irrelevant to Judaism.

I have always contended that the Jewish people provide the best evidence for disproving the existence of a supreme being .
Or ,
The Supreme being has a most unfortunate type of warped humour .
And is more of a Clown .

Recently they seem hell bent on living up to that reputation .
imho

Until God divided Israel in the days of Jeroboam and Rehoboam.

God divided the kingdoms, not the nation.
The nation was divided by religion from Jesus day forward.
Two tribes became Judaizers.
Ten tribes became Christians (Benjamin eventually left Judaism).

We're all still brothers.
