Kenny Wayne Shepherd Blues Award Nomination Revoked

I saw him play at an Experience Hendrix show a few years ago in Albany. He stole the show. Simply amazing.
Never saw him, even though he's from down the road in Shreveport...just heard the radio stuff, but I'll take your word for it. I haven't seen many blues guys live -- my list is Chuck Berry, Alvin Lee, Eric Clapton and Johnny Winter.

So, because the kid did this, his Dad needs to resign?

That's pretty fucked up.

Fuck the Blues Society...

The guy is still a great musician.
I don't recall anyone saying he wasn't.
The point is, it was a dumb thing for him to do.

Then why is his father being asked to resign?

Was he flying the confederate flag? Have it painted on his car?

You mean the car that has been in storage for years and that no one ever sees?

Some snowflake probably saw some picture form 10 years ago

I can only guess. I don't really know anything about the situation...

My only connection to the Blues Foundation is the $500 I donated to their relief fund for blues musicians who were put out of work due to the pandemic.
Other than that all I can say is the answer you seek is at blues.org
Check there.

Sounds like country.

blues and country intersect all the time

Blues is in everything. Country and rock copy off each other, but blues is more like
the essential element of both. Jazz fusion shook everything up in the 70's with music like Steely Dan
and Spyro Gyra influencing everything after the mid 70's.

I don't think there has been a more influential style of music

The singer looks like he could be Danny Trejo's kid...

Can you imagine how many Fender Stratocaster sales it's responsible for ? (Gibson Les Paul's too)
Between Hendrix, Clapton, Robin Trower and SRV - those 4 alone probably account for millions of
them.

not to mention that every other guitar out there is either a Fender or a Gibson clone
