Kid arrested for having a $2 bill

I have several $2.00 bills and a Susan B. Anthony $1.00 coin. I have thought it would be fun to use two twos and a one dollar coin the size of a quarter to pay a five dollar charge at a fast food joint with teenager cashiers.

It happened eight years ago, but it did happen.
Almost no one in the family besides me has cash in the first place...

You might regret trying...

Per the Forbes article, it wasn't the $2 itself, but they ran the counterfeit marker on it and it hit.
Um...even then calling the police appears nutty. Why not just say - can't accept as the bill may be counterfeit?

I carry four $2.00 bills, paired with sequential serial numbers, a Susan B, and a Sacagawea on my person every day, that way I'm never broke...

/---/ If you order a bundle that is direct from the Treasury, they may be in sequential order. Stick it in a safe deposit box or safe. Wait 30 years. The Treasury is no longer producing any bills in sequential order.
I tried to order a $500 bill from my bank once and they refused me. They said they were not allowed in circulation.

/—-/ Thank the drug dealers. $100 bills makes it harder.
I think it's more about counterfeiting, and countries like North Korea that print $100's that can't be distinguished with normal quality checks.

I just wanted one to have, just for the fun of it. What's the point of printing them if you can't own one?

The other thing that's interesting, have you ever wondered about all those stamps you see on the currency? Especially on $100's? Little smiley faces and shit like that?

Those are put there by banks so they can track the way currency flows. My banker told me that when I asked her about it one day.

I keep some cash in the safety deposit box, and I always check the bills and exchange the ones with the markings so that my cash on hand is undamaged and unmarked bills. Probably paranoid, but I got into the habit from traveling in Mexico and Central America. They want unmarked and undamaged currency when you use US dollars down there. No tears, no stamps, they will refuse the bill if it's not pristine.

That's as queer as a $3.00 bill!
I would venture the Cook Islands $3 is the greatest currency design ever made, I wish our currency was half as cool!

This is my Costa Rican 2000 Colones note. It's pretty cool with the hammerhead shark and dolphin, but it has nothing on the Cook Islands $3. ;)

If I ever get back to the Bahamas I will bring back one of their $100's. I kick myself for not doing it when I had the chance.

Bahamas currency also has fish, and the larger the bill the better the fish.

The $100 is the Blue Marlin.
