Yes, its going to happen. Trump will play it safe by downplaying his involvement for now, then after the election the great purge begins. There are consequences for your party's political lawfare. Ultimately, I'm asking trump supporters to examine the record I've laid out. The demonstrable evidence shows trump and his cohorts tried to change the outcome of a presidential election. I can think of few greater threats to democracy than that. They say past is prologue, hence my (our) concern.

Condensed to its essential element, your story of the reported meeting is this: Trump consulted a lawyer to see if there was a legal way to mitigate all of the rule changing and ballot harvesting on behalf of Biden.
The lawyer believed the VP could indeed legally decline to certify electors if he believed that they were not properly chosen in states in which there were many such irregularities. I believe the lawyer was correct, but even if he was not, it became moot when Pence opted to certify the electors selected in questionable ballot gathering procedures.
Is that really all Democrats mean when they say “threat to democracy” over and over, or is there more?

I myself don’t necessarily doubt that Trump did all your OP claimed he did. I can’t automatically accept it because the media has told so many lies about Trump that are repeated by well-meaning posters. Todays generation must not have read “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” or seen “Pinocchio.”
