It didn’t take long for right-wing media figures and MAGA provocateurs to cry out in rage over the election of Robert Prevost as Pope Leo XIV after it was revealed that he’d publicly criticized Vice President JD Vance and expressed sympathy for immigrants and George Floyd.
Despite feeling national pride over the fact that the Chicago-born Prevost has become the first American pope in history, conservative pundits and Trump loyalists fumed over the “WOKE MARXIST POPE” and complained that he is “worse than Francis,” referencing the previous pontiff known for his progressive values.
Even before the “dark horse” American cardinal was elected the 267th pope, former Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon warned about Prevost’s views, claiming that he would be a poor choice for the MAGA movement.
“I do think one of the dark horses — and unfortunately one of the most progressive — is Cardinal Prevost... he's certainly on the shortlist,” Bannon told Piers Morgan last week about the prospect of the first American pope.
After the white smoke poured out from the Sistine Chapel on Thursday, indicating that the conclave had selected a new pontiff to replace the deceased Pope Francis, Newsmax anchor Rob Schmitt grumbled that this “Pope better not be woke.”

When it comes to the economy, Trump is definitely out there trying to do "something". What I don't know. Is he doing that stupid crazy shit for us? I told you he wasn't that smart.
As far as getting illegals out of this country, is he? I mean we do see Kristi Noem out there doing raids but is that all for show? There are a lot of gangs in this country. I would love to see the DHS go after all of them.
But you certainly can't call this president the law and order president. If you are rich and go to jail for white collar crime, you just have to donate $1 million dollars to Trump and he will give you a full pardon. That I don't like. Neither will you when they tell us 10 years from now SS is bankrupt.

Actually, I blame your side. In the 2000's it was your side who defended companies who hired illegals. Today you blame liberals and sactuary cities. They didn't come here for welfare. They come to work.
Anyways, I'm sure we will continue to disagree but one thing I will agree with you on is that EVERY president should be concerned with illegals sneaking into this country. Not so important pre 9-11 but post 9-11, absolutely.

That's because for 40 years we designed an economic system that took advantage of these cheap workers. It's not their fault. And now, we fucking need them. So just make them legal. Or, make it easy to become legal if you step forward. If you've been here for years why not?
It's not black and white Harry. If we didn't have all these illegals coming in all these years, we would have most certainly increased the number of LEGAL immigrants we let in. And they'd still work cheap.
It's a mess. All I know is it was unions and Democrats who didn't like illegals coming here and taking our jobs in the 90's and 2000's but then Bush got in and used them as a political punching bag
