Make baby jesus cry

Fried okra is food of the gods.

Here's how I do it...I haven't tried it with fresh, but that's coming:

1 can cut okra, sans about 1/2 of the liquid

Put into a bowl, mix with about 1/3 cup of flour, or corn meal, or a mixture. Salt & pepper to taste.

Add grated parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning to taste.

heat about 1/2 inch of oil in cast iron skillet (or whatever you have) to about medium heat.

Put okra mixure in. Let it brown, then stir a bit, let brown, then serve.

If you let it fry too long it will be tough and fibrous.

It's the best stuff in the world. I went to Georgia and didn't eat any better.
 
Sweet (iced) tea:

Put 3tea bags of black tea in a 1 gallon container of cold water.

Let sit for 8-24 hours.

Take out tea bags.

Add 1-1/2 cups sugar

Stir until sugar dissolves.

Serve with ice & lemon.

making iced tea with cold water means it won't taste bitter. Sun tea is for losers.
