If the guy files an insurance claim ... does the insurance company get to keep the meteorite? ... [raises eyebrows] ... that rock is worth big bucks on the retail market ...

A word of caution ... something other than the meteor's direct action started the fire ... it hit a gas line or shorted out some wiring ... meteors are nominally at -225 to -250ºC ... a few seconds passing through our atmosphere won't changed that much ... this thing is deep space cold ...

DEMOCRATIC PARTY SPOKESPERSON: Obviously this is the result of capitalism caused climate change, so we need to tax the living shit out of you for breathing and castrate your children muthafuckas.

That's terrible!....but at least the meteor targeted the right state.

I advise my fellow preppers to get some practice, just in case of such an emergency.

Your dog's life depends on it (and it's kinda fun too).

That depends on if it's a rocky one or metallic.

What would be the reason for the claim????

God took a hot, flaming dump on my house???

No ... meteors are bitter cold ... deep space cold ... alone they cannot start fires ... broken natural gas lines and short-circuiting electric wiring will certainly start house fires ... and your insurance should cover that ...

Besides ... what kind of stupid moron would have their house burn down and NOT file a claim ... that's free of charge, it's only expensive if they say `no` ...
