I'm just relieved it wasn't a coon. That wouldn't have been pretty.

However, rabies is a threat and my dog hasn't had her shot, so I think I'll be taking her to the vet and getting that for her asap. She didn't get bit, but they can get it from saliva as well, and she was all over that thing.

She also just got a little spray on her head. The bulk of the spray hit my screen, my door, and us.

Yes, skunks are known for a problem with rabies, I remember a warning this year for hunters about that.
