The fact that he was heard saying he couldn't breathe, when he was in the back of the squad car, leads me to believe he was already ODing.

Did being restrained help him? Nope.

He was breathing, but he wasn't getting oxygen. I dare anybody to try not breathing and saying the words "I can't breathe." You need to exhale to say any words.

OD'ing----does not complain "I CAN'T breathe----he fades away either happily or very nauseated. "I can't breathe" is a person most likely having a heart attack---
or---maybe a pulmonary embolus----or pneumonia,
etc. An arrestee says anything that diverts the cops.....ANYTHING ----including "I can't see" or "I can't remember my name" But it does not matter---for POLITICAL reasons---the cop's goose is cooked
