it would blow your mind how many habitat for humanity homes I have seen torn down because they got destroyed by the people they were given too,,Ok.
So now you took criminals, dopeheads, crazy people, and so on and you made them insanely cheap junk houses and gave them to them. Now what?
Because guess what. They are still criminals, drug addicts, crazy and so on. Only difference is now they live in a piece of junk house tax payers paid for.
All that would do is create even more "homeless" because there people in poverty that would give up and become homeless to have a shitty box to live in and have the government pay for everything for them.
It doesn't change anything. We will still have to take care of them and pay for everything for them. They won't magically become better people because you printed a crate for them to sleep in.
There is only 1 solution for the homeless, and that's to stop breeding them by forcing society at large to be stronger, smarter, harder working, to have pride and morals and standards and values, to be more responsible and have more ambition. We need to start not tolerating dopeheads and crazies and criminals. It will take a long time but after a while as society becomes better the homeless will fade away.
Catering to the homeless and just giving them stuff doesn't fix anything.

my mom paid 13K just to have her water line replaced when it sprung a leak,,
a new service is closer to 20 K,,
all three can run as high as 50K if not more in some areas,,
and thats not even getting into building codes and zoning,,
