New York honors Non-existant Black Woman Alongside White Men of Great Accomplishments

I get the desire to diversify the heroes given publicly funded recognition. But a statue of a hypothetical black woman honored for nothing more than being black, heavy and "unbothered?"

Makes perfect sense.
  • For a white person to get a statue, they must discover or save a nation.
  • For a black person to get a statue, they must simply exist as a purely ideological fictional figure.
  • A white person's statue can be torn down just because you disagree with their life accomplishments.
  • But if a non-existant black person gets a statue, there can be no justification for tearing it down, short of "racism" because they never did anything to agree or disagree with.
Now let's just hope an army of people come along and tear this crap down just they did for George Washington or Christopher Columbus.

You know that Billie Holiday was a heroin addict, right? The only brave thing she ever did in her life was sing Strange Fruit. That was a brave thing. Can't take that away. But she was a druggie and it killed her.
helluva singer.though.

Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Eric Clapton, John Belushi ...

I get the desire to highlight people who are often overlooked, but I do think it’s important that the focus stays on the achievements and contributions of these individuals. If we want to honor someone, it might be better to choose someone with a history of real impact.
A Seed Doesn't Grow in Sand

We need a statue to the Wouldbe Achiever, because Terminal America is only using 10% of its available talent.

Some of the greatest computer geniuses know nothing about computers. If you don't understand that, you know nothing about Deplore, Exclude, and Infiltrate.

The Times Square website states, "Price’s multi-channel presentation on the screens and sculptural installation on the plaza below forms a two-part takeover in Times Square that foregrounds the intrinsic value of the individual and amplifies traditionally marginalized bodies on a monumental scale."

Exemplifies the condescending attitude behind DEI.

Doesn't New Nork have any great black women, past or present, who it could have honored? If not, there are many great black Texas women who achieved far more than just being comfortable with their excess fat.
Myron’s take:

This is an example of glorifying fat women. Black women have a massive obesity problem, and it is encouraged in the black community.

I finally just saw the picture of the statue. Maybe they should’ve made it so she doesn’t look like she ate eight double cheeseburgers and four large fries for five times a day just saying. 😊
