While I am not a fan of Trump I see this as stupid to say the least. He is not stopping them from saying anything they want. They could do constant shows about how great China or Russia are. He is not forcing them to close their doors.
He is removing tax payer money. Do tax payers pay for NBC or CBS? No. Do the pay for your local radio station? No. They could follow the model of every other radio station and use advertising to do whatever they want. But they are too lazy to actually get off their butts to do what is required.
