The White House is urging Senate Democrats to uphold a possible veto by President Obama of the annual defense authorization bill.
The legislation has emerged as a flashpoint in the battle between the administration and congressional Republicans over government funding.
The White House is seeking to get Republicans to lift spending ceilings imposed under sequestration and objects to the GOP adding funds to a separate war account for the Pentagon while the rest of the government’s spending is curbed.
White House chief of staff Denis McDonough urged Democrats at a private meeting Tuesday to oppose the authorization measure because it would allow the use of the war fund, known as the Overseas Contingency Operations account, to boost defense spending while leaving cuts to social programs intact.
OK...
First of all, there are no cuts. They will still be wasting more money on regressive programs than they wasted last year. They just won't be able to waste as much as they want.
Secondly, these sequester "cuts" were the moonbat messiah's doing in the first place, but since cutting military spending while trying to pretend he's working on wiping out ISIS might expose him for the fraud that he is, and he needs the democrook senate to continue to cover his ass.
The military is the one thing the feds are obligated to fully fund. The social welfare bullshit is not a priority. Even through all the furloughs and pay stoppages of military employees, I never once heard of a welfare parasite having to fund their own meals for weeks at a time.
I am wondering also, how democrooks with large military industries in their district are going to be able to juggle protecting the moonbat messiah, with lay offs of voting democrook union workers.
