Hillary Clinton warns against government shutdown | World News | Comcast

This president is not going to agree to defund health care. We're on the path to beginning the implementation. If they want to shut the government down, that's on their head and they're responsibility," she said. "And if they go even further, which is deeply distressing, and for the first time lead our country into a default on our obligations, that is not just partisan politics that is going at the heart of our credibility around the world."

Clinton said a default on the nation's debt would lead to "some unnecessary self-inflicted wounds that this country does not deserve. We deserve better from our political leadership no matter what party they're in."

What a bunch of bullshit , and to believe people want this dictator for the next President, God help us all.......:eusa_pray::eusa_pray:

You gonna die young?

You figure you'll be relevant when you're in your 60's?

If she's wrong, she's wrong. You shouldn't have to demonize her to make your point.

if they had to drag Shrillery out the Dems must be worried......

Yes, Democrats are worried for America. Of course should Republicons go through with this and shut the government down, it will most likely cost them control of the House in 2014, and it will definitely insure that Hillary becomes the next president.

While Americans are still pretty evenly split, something like this from the Republicans will push everyone in the middle over to the Democratic side. My prediction remains the same. No matter what happens in the next couple of years, by 2020 the Republican Party is going to the undoing of the party. They are going to lose control of Texas and a few other Southern states. The house of cards is about to come tumbling down on Republicans.

When Social Security was first implemented, there was a massive disinformation campaign by the wealthy. They wanted to destroy SS before it reached the middle class.

They lied and lied and lied and lied.

But they failed to kill it.

The middle class got their Social Security and they loved it, including Ayn Rand and William F Buckley and Milton Friedman who didn't return a fucking nickel.

Also...SS helped the economy by freeing up money in middle class wallets for consumption. (You get this, right?) Not having to worry about retirement as much (yours and/or your parents) meant you had more money available to buy things. And when the middle class has more money for consumption, the capitalist has an incentive to innovate and add jobs to capture that demand.

Same thing with Medicare. The wealthy tried to kill it before it reached people, but they failed. Now the republicans can't win an election without promising to old people that Medicare will not be touched. Republicans seniors in places like Florida WANT Social Security and Medicare.

Here's what Rush Limbaugh doesn't tell his moronic listeners. The problem with ObamaCare is not that people will hate it, but the opposite. The problem is that it will become another immensely popular entitlement that cannot be killed. This is why the Republicans were in the wilderness for so long - because the majority of Americans wanted the New Deal, including the Solid South, which voted democrat for 3 decades. It wasn't until LBJ passed the Civil Rights Act that the GOP was able to use racism to pry Dixie off the New Deal.

I predict that the Rightwing will be able to kill ObamaCare. But if they don't - indeed if people start receiving the benefits - than we will start our long march to the eventual day when a mentally handicapped Republican screams

"Get your government hands off my ObamaCare"

The lengths that the Republicans are going to to destroy the AHA is astonishing.

Not only holding the government and country to ransom, but also launching a full-on advertising campaign to urge people not to sign up to it so that it falls over is beyond belief.

I love the hyperbole surrounding this whole issue. Ransom, hostage, political terror. It's just funny to see politicians twist and turn phrases in an effort to score any political points.
