Hmmm, interesting tactic. Accuse others of putting people in boxes and refusing to accept people for who they while you're doing the exact same thing. Anyone else notice that in one paragraph, the writer is in a small town, while in the following one, he/she is in 'the city"?What "special treatment" are trannies asking for, other than to be treated with dignity and respect? Not to be beaten up, or attacked, and to use the washroom with privacy.
YOU'RE the ones are want to treat trannies differently than you would other people. You refuse to accept them for who they are, but rather you want them to conform to YOUR idea of who they should be. The only problem I see here is YOU.
Coming from the City, I see a lot of people who go there to "re-invent" themselves. Small towns put people into boxes, and that's who you are. Like the local lawyer here who was the skinny nerdy kid who got shoved into lockers a lot, when he was in high school. I met a guy who "went to school with him", and he was the school joke. Now he's the town joke. No matter how successful he became, he is still the skinny nerdy kid they used to shove into lockers.
In the city, we don't have time to obsess over other people's lives. We're accept people for who they are because who am I to judge who you choose to be. If you're not harming anyone or doing illegal shit, whatever floats your boat.
