Part of it could be that we have to protect countries that choose to build more parks swing sets than rather than buying military equipment to defend themselves. Some country must be pragmatic and not idealistic or the bad players would take over the world.

There's plenty of money for parks and recreation and even free health care. United States is the most powerful country on the planet It's also the most corrupt by a long shot. China isn't even close to help corrupt this country is.
