It's a big blow for the Church. No one will ever pretend that he was ever perfect, but he dedicated his whole life to his faith and helping others. For that we should all be grateful. He will be very sorry missed. My condolences to his family and other loved ones, and to Catholics everywhere.

Let’s hope and pray our next Pope is in the mold of St. John Paul II whose pronouncements left no confusion and who condemned abortion repeatedly and publicly, and who also denounced socialism in no uncertain terms.
I love my Socialistic Medicare and Social Security.
When the pro-life crazies show up after one of our mass random shootings, I might take them seriously. They`re Pro-Birth and nothing else.

‘Pro life crazies”. The people who want to protect kids are “crazy” while those who want to kill them are normal. What an insane ideology the left has.

As far as popes go....
Francis is not going to be mourned too much. He has not been believed by the billions of Catholics to be a "good pope".
(Catholic Church is not a democracy)

And the problem resides with the Cardinals and Bishops. And Francis did not fix those groups at all. Allowed them to become worse than ever before.

Unless this next pope is a turncoat, and by that I mean a turncoat of the corruptors....(Ratzinger was....he got forced to step down but he exposed a LOT)

So....it will be interesting to see what or who they prop up next and what this one does.

Ain't been one like John Paul for a while now....they are still trying to raise him up to Sainthood.
