President’s Racial Empathy Goes Overboard… From the Ridiculous to the Sublime

Obama was more emotional in talking about Brown’s death and what it shows about the state of race relations in America five years after he took office, even using the occasion to proudly reminisce about how he passed legislation dealing with racial profiling back when he was serving in the Illinois legislature.

While acknowledging that “there are young black men that commit crime,’’ the president lamented statistics showing that “you have young men of color in many communities who are more likely to end up in jail or in the criminal justice system than they are in a good job or in college.’’


While I understand the passions and the anger that arise over the death of Michael Brown, giving in to that anger by looting or carrying guns and even attacking the police only serves to raise tensions.”

Now who said this wasn't about race? Not our president!

1. He's not talking about about unity here. He's talking about HIS legislation on racial profiling.

2. You have young men of color who are more likely to end up in jail then in college or with a good job. Well, then address the problem of staying in school, staying off drugs and stop having kids before marriage! Do we hear that? No. Listen to the next paragraph.

3. Giving in to looting, carrying guns and attacking police only serves to raise tensions????!!!! Mr. President It is illegal to loot and attack police!! They can get their ass shot and be as dead as Michael Brown! Raise tensions! My God man! If they were white you'd have them in jail without a trial.

A police officer (at least this one) didn't shoot anyone because of his race. He shot him because he evidently struggled with him in the car trying to get his weapon, assaulted him, did not freeze when ordered to do so and kept charging him. Does any of that have anything to do with race?
